Safety from the start: DEKRA as the official technical partner of Formula Student Germany
As one of the main sponsors and technical partners of the Formula Student design competition, DEKRA supports the racing teams of universities throughout the world.
As a technical partner, we have provided support since the first official Formula Student Germany competition in 2006. Even before the competition, the DEKRA experts verify conformance with the rules and regulations with regard to the design and construction of the vehicles of all teams in Formula Student Combustion, and since 2010, for Formula Student Electric as well. Furthermore, some teams subject the crash structures at the front of the vehicle to energy absorption tests at the DEKRA Crash Test Center in Neumünster. Meanwhile, our experts in Hockenheim are responsible for the basic technical approval of the racing car and for acceptance test on the tilt table and the noise measurement test stand.
With our involvement with Formula Student, we not only support an exciting design competition, but also give young engineers the chance to make important contacts as they start their professional life.
DEKRA has extensive expertise and many years of experience in professional motorsport. Amongst other things, our company’s engineers are active as technical commissioners of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM). And with the DEKRA Technology Center, we have outstanding infrastructure for Formula Student.
